Family Martial Arts Academy
Who We Are And Why You Should Train Here
I would like to introduce you to the Family Martial Arts Academy. I am Tracy Huff, a mother, a wife, a Mimi, a 4th Degree Black Belt, and Instructor. We are a martial art school that practices Tang Soo Do.
Why did I open a karate school?
Well let me explain. The reason that I became a martial artist was for my son Stephen. Stephen was in 6th grade and having a horrible time with peer pressure. I spent a lot of time at the school speaking with vice-principals and guidance counselors and was very frustrated. I started to seek out something that I could do for Stephen outside of school that would build his self-esteem and self- confidence. A friend recommended martial arts and I thought “Why Not?” nothing else was working.
As I watched him train, I thought that looked like fun and I could use stress relief. We had a great time training together-it gave us something to share and because he outranked me, his confidence was definitely boosted.
Today, he does not train with me, but still has reaped the benefits of the self-esteem and confidence. Most people who meet him today would never know that for a time he struggled with being comfortable with who he is as a person.
I continued to train without him because even as an adult, the practice of Tang Soo Do continues to push me and cause me to grow. I am constantly challenged to do more as I progress in rank.
It is for these reasons that I am excited about sharing my art and creating the same results for families in our area. I want to empower as many children and adults as I can to know that they can do anything they focus on.
Will you help me reach as many as I can?

“FMAA has become our second home.”
“The instructor is awesome and knowledgeable in her craft.”
I received the warm and courteous welcome and excellent introduction to finding out the interest of your children in martial arts
Love It! My Girls Love It! Tracy and her team is Wonderful! Very encouraging & supportive. They are the best at what they do.
They get 5 starts from our family. We started our five year old with Ms. Huff about a month ago. He was so scared that he didn’t participate for the first two times we went. Her patience and subtle persistence paid off and he loves it. He’s so happy with the pee wee class and can’t wait to see his continued growth.

“Great place excellent instructors.”
“They teach discipline as well as life skills during class.”
“Simply the best martial arts place in the area!”
Probably one of the best development programs for both young kids and adults. Your kids will learn many important life skills: improved communication, discipline, self-confidense, and good work ethic. The Brown family combined (both Sr. Masters and future Master Brown) bring over 70 years worth of experience, and know the best ways to teach all types personalities. Whether you’re a die hard martial arts enthusiast, or just looking for a good after school program (or anything in between) ATA is the place to be!
My granddaughter loves taekwondo. She is in 3 classes per week. The Browns are great instructors who love their kids and adults. They teach discipline as well as life skills during class.
It’s amazing best place I’ve ever been to !

They always answer phone calls and are very kind. If you’re looking into BJJ, definitely check this place out.

.y oldest son has been going here for a year and a half now and my youngest started earlier this year. They both love it! We started right when covid hit, but Sensei Cook offered classes through zoom despite having to shut down the dojo for a while. Now that things have opened back up my boys have been ale to participate in tournaments and enjoy going to karate Monday through Turusday. This is a great place for both kids and adults!
Fantastic environment for kids and adults to learn Karate. We felt comfortable right away, very friendly staff and instructors.
My son and I joined Team Tiger a few months ago and we have been having the best time! We are making friends and learning so much from Sensei Cook. Its a family centered environment and everyone has made us feel welcome. My son is High Functioning Autistic and Adhd, i have seen him gain confidence and he’s also able to focus a bit better. The adult classes are fun and relaxed while also being challenging.

“Amazing, Caring Teachers in a super clean and safe environment!”
“She refused to serve us even after our class had already being paid for.”
We are going to miss this place. My daughter had a great experience. She started when she was about 18 months and I could see her confidence grow each time. Thank you to staff for making her birthday special. We love the Little Gym!
I enrolled both my kids for the intro experience, and was able to be in the lobby without a face covering. My kids were enrolled in different classes and had no issues when I took my son, we were in the lobby watching my son play and have fun. Nobody mentioned anything about our face covering unless we went inside the where the class was being conducted. The next day I bought my daughter and the receptionist was extremely rude and sarcastic towards my family. She was forcing us to wear our face covers and I informed her that we’ve been here without them and it there was no problem. She refused to serve us even after our class had already being paid for. We were happy to enroll our kids and we’re going to enrolled them for the summer camp will not be doing that due to her behavior. I will find another place to take our business. It believe it was about $200 per child to do the summer camp, thank you for saving me $400.Not due to the face covering but the inconsistency of the service, because we asked prior to enrolling them.
My 4 year old has been going here since July. She loves it. The instructors are super nice and lovely people.
